In honor of Black History Month, sneaker brands and streetwear brands have taken the initiative to create limited edition collections every year. What started out as a single shoe or shirt releases have turned into entire collections and sneaker drops. PUMA designed the Legacy Collection, a selection of exclusive footwear styles and apparel for Black History Month. Today, the first of two Black History Month releases dropped. PUMA dropped their iconic Clyde Basketball silhouette in two exclusive color ways, the Clyde Bball and the Clyde Wool.
The Clyde BBall silhouette is inspired by a basketball throughout its textured leather upper. The gold eyelets on the lace holes represent the many basketball trophies earned by Walk Clyde Frazier. The other is the Clyde Wool. This style is a combination of wool and chenille which is inspired by the High School Letterman jacket. The sneakers are Blue and Gold to represent the David T. Howard School, Clyde’s alma mater. Their slogan, “Blue and Gold will save your soul” rigid through in their school community. Clyde says, “I’m deeply honored to be an alumnus of the David T. Howard school. The institution fostered the growth of some of our nation’s brightest leaders and I feel this collection captures the essence of that and what the school did for so many.”
The second drop is set to happen on February 2nd and it includes both apparel and footwear. Click here for purchase info.
