Summertime is the best time for a picnic. It’s always fun when friends get together to enjoy good food and good company. While there are a lot of parks and green spaces in New York City, packing up an amazing picnic can be a task. The Knickerbocker Hotel in Times Square is offering up a unique picnic situation. Their Rooftop Bar & Lounge plays host to a Backyard #picKNICK for the summer.
The Knickerbocker Hotel took a warm weather tradition and gave it a new-age spin. The rooftop picKnick is served up with a pitcher of “Wrong Way Rosé” or a selection of other summer specialty cocktails. The Lejay Spritz and the French Twist are also on the picKNICK menu. As a “Summer Fridays” treat, If you arrive before 2:00 p.m., you can start your picnic early with one complimentary Lejay Spritz cocktail (they open at noon).
Once you and your guests are situated, you will have the option to choose from a selection of themed picnic baskets. Chef Charlie Palmer and Executive Chef Christopher Engel came up with three tasty options. The American, The French, or The Mediterranean baskets are available for your picnic. Each basket comes stocked with sophisticated samplings of traditional summer food favorites served worldwide. Each basket serves 2-4 people and is available at any time on a first come, first served basis on the outdoor deck of the rooftop bar.
Aside from the yummy baskets, there is a special menu available. This menu is offering up everything from Main Lobster Rolls to Piña Colada and Margarita Popsicles. Perfect way to end a summer day and kick off an amazing summer night.
