There are so many shows and so little time. New York Fashion Week is always a hectic time in the city so time management and scheduling skills are key. Some shows are a must see and Laurel DeWitt is one of them. Her pieces have been spotted on some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities. Her creative vision is amazing and she has a solid team behind her to make them come to life. Her SS’18 Dancing Queen collection hit the runway at The Church of the Holy Apostles last night and definitely didn’t disappoint.
DeWitt revisited the Disco scene, which was an epic time for fashion. All of the pieces from this collection were heavily inspired by the disco scene and all its fashion glory. Her show was stacked with 16 looks that captured that epic chic and added her signature, sparkling twist. The metal clad pieces consisted of asymmetrical tops, body suits, jumpers, metal pasties, halters, and fishnet shorts. Her vision for this was insane and she flawlessly executed every piece. We also saw some signature hardware, handbags, and even custom branded tees that pop, sporting “LD Hustle”, I heart LD, and Dancing Queen.
The show was led by Legendary Damon with the traditional finale closing with RayuanaAleyce. Attendees included stylist Ty Hunter, Monifah, Misa Hylton, and Yandy Smith to name a few.
