Sirius XM is home to a variety of channels that represent a variety of things. From sports to talks shows to all kinds of music genres, there are plenty of channels to choose from. LL Cool J recently announced that he was joining the Sirius XM squad. He is set to launch Rock the Bells Radio early next year. The channel is expected to be heavy with classic hip-hop content, music, interviews, and original content curated by LL Cool J himself.
“My love for Hip-Hop runs deep and I’m passionate about restoring its legacy of respect” – LL Cool J
The name of the channel pays homage to one of LL’s hit singles from his debut album, Radio. LL is hoping that this classic hip-hop channel will restore some of the respect that classic hip-hop deserves. It will also be a great way to bridge the generational gap when it comes to music. There seems to be a huge divide when it comes to old hip-hop and new hip-hop. Everybody has different standards and a lot of that is based upon not knowing the history. Between the music and the conversation, this channel will be the perfect place for hip-hop fans. LL is well versed in the subject matter and even created some of the high points.
There are quite a few Sirius XM channels that are created by some of the industries most iconic artists including Eminem (Shade 45), The Beatles Channel, and B.B. King’s Bluesville. Sirius XM’s over 200 channels are available for subscribers in the car or at home. Alexa, Sony PlayStation, Sonos speakers, and other devices are enabled for in-home listening. Look for Rock the Bells Radio to drop in early 2018.
