North Carolina MC O'Darius Rollinson was born April 2, 1987. He started rapping at age 11 while living in New York’s Capital, Albany. Moving back to his hometown of Gastonia to finish high school, the rapper attended North Carolina A&T State University while following his dreams of becoming a rapstar.
A glimmer of success shown as then 17 year old freshman student won the RapCity ‘Pepsi Flow’ Contest in Greensboro, NC. He was on BET alongside hosts Big Tigger & Mad Linx. In 2007, Drop placed 1st in Loud.com’s "Whose The Next HipHop Superstar" contest and Fmr. Loud Records CEO Steve Rifkind described the down south MC as “a throwback to the mc’s that reigned in the golden era, socially conscious and in tune with the culture.”
Falling just short of winning the Grand Prize of $100,000 and a Record Deal with SRC/Universal, O.D would practice his craft and analyze what makes rappers like his favorite Jay-Z successful. It takes more than just talent and skill in todays market, it requires hardwork and perseverance. O.D. is no stranger to either.
His debut THE MULA MIXTAPE(LP) under the former branded moniker of "Drop" released online July 14, 2009 and received a perfect "5 Stars"! His 2nd mixtape THE FLOOD released online September 18, 2009 and he is currently in the studio working on his 3rd mixtape entitled MY AMBITION AZ A ROC STAR(MARS) Coming 2010!
O.D. is determined to become nationally known and respected by the music world, and to write a new & unforgettable chapter in HipHop history!
